In collaboration with our partner Fastacash, we have become the first international money transfer brand to launch a service that enables money transfers internationally through social media and messaging apps.
XOPO, a revolutionary money transfer app that enables international money transfer through social channels like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and WeChat, was launched today in Las Vegas, at Money 20/20 – the largest global event focused on payments and financial services. XOPO is the world’s first service to enable customers to send, request and receive money – across borders – through social networks and messaging channels.
With XOPO, we are moving away from the idea of money transfers being purely transactional, to include conversations, emotions and experiences in the process. Customers will also be able to send digital content – photos, videos and messages, along with the money transfer. The logo of XOPO was conceptualized bearing this in mind. We wanted to sum up the entire money transfer process that includes wallets + conversations + money + emotions – through XOPO – a singular ecosystem, created for people to connect through money transfer.
In the first phase, XOPO will be launched over the next few days in the UK on Android and iOS devices. Our customers in the UK will be able to send money using XOPO to any country within the Xpress Money network. This social integration of money transfer will enable family and friends to transfer money from anywhere in the UK and at any time of the day, creating a global money transfer service that eclipses the versatility of banks.
In the second phase, XOPO will expand to other markets, including the US, Canada, Australia and other European markets. XOPO will also extend its services to include other forms of value, including international airtime transfers and domestic money transfers.
