Celebrating The Contribution of Blue Collar Workers

Blue collar workers are unsung heroes powering the dramatic rise of cities not just in the Middle East but across the world. But all too often, out of sight is out of mind when it comes to appreciating and recognising them. But not at Xpress Money.

As a brand, we remain committed to reaching out to blue-collar workers across the GCC in ways that improve their quality of life, promote financial inclusion, ensure their health and well-being through free medical checkups, and encourage them to use legal channels when transferring their hard-earned wages home.

Event To Honour Blue Collar Workers

Xpress Money is always looking for opportunities to connect with the blue-collar worker communities. Therefore, for the International Workers’ Day, celebrated on May 1st, we partnered with Dubai Police and Dubai Industrial Park, to appreciate blue-collar workers for their contribution to UAE’s economy.

Dance Performance On International Worker's Day

To make this occasion memorable, we organized a day of sports, fun and music, which was attended by over 15,000 workers of diverse nationalities. What made the occasion even more relevant was that 2017 has also been nominated as the Year of Giving by the UAE’s leadership.

Sports & Fun On International Worker’s Day

In addition to a host of entertainment and sporting activities including a marathon, the participants also had the opportunity to focus on their health with free health checks and screenings. A special safety and traffic education session was conducted by Captain Abdul Aziz Hassan Alshemmari – Head of Traffic Awareness Section – General Dept. of Traffic, Dubai Police and Corporal Omar Muslim Osman, both explaining the importance of following traffic rules to the audience. All told, the memorable day was also an excellent way to reinforce Xpress Money’s support for the UAE’s blue-collar community.

2017 marks the 9th year running that we’ve co-hosted the International Workers’ Day celebration with Dubai Industrial Park. And every year, the size, scale, and ambition of the celebrations has increased. 2018 will mark a decade of collaboration, and will see us pull out all the stops for a superb event!
