An Award-Winning Welcome To Ramadan In 2017

It is the season of giving and celebration. But it may just also be the season of receiving – because Xpress Money has entered the Holy Month of Ramadan in a buoyant yet reflective mood with a slew of award wins.

From the start of the year, we have been recognised for excellence in business development, marketing, social media, HR and CSR practices, and have netted a total of seven rewards.

On the business and customer service front, we’ve won “Best Remittance Service Provider – Middle East” at the Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2017 and “Best Remittance Service – Global” at the CFI.co Awards 2017. These wins are a celebration of our commitment to our customers. We’ve gone all out to bring value to our communities – by investing in network expansion, improving our international transfer capabilities through strategic collaborations with banks, and have introduced mobile wallets in key territories.

We’ve always believed in reaching out, and our responsiveness and engagement on social media has been recognised. We’ve been awarded the “Best Use of Social Media in Marketing” from CMO Asia and “Best Use of Video” from Golden Globe Tigers Award 2017 for the Studio Xpress campaign. Most of you will remember our incredibly exciting Studio Xpress online show, which brought action and analysis from the Euro 2016 cup to your screens through Facebook and YouTube.

Studio Xpress was a show designed just for our football fans, and all of you responded. 1.5 million of you engaged with our broadcasts. Our videos racked up 500,000 impressions on Twitter, over 115,000 views on YouTube and were shared around 1,000 times. Thank you for being a superb audience!

Internally, we are committed to supporting our teams as they deliver great customer experiences to our clients. We want to create an inclusive and gender-balanced workforce. Our efforts in the HR arena helped us scoop the “Award for Continuous Innovation in HR Strategy at Work” at the 11th Employer Branding Awards and the “Exemplary Woman Leadership Award” at the 4th World Women Leadership Conference & Awards. There’s no secret recipe to winning these awards: it was all hard work coming from a belief that our employees should be empowered, and that we can create an environment where high motivation levels and low turnover create better service encounters for you – our customers.

We’ve often spoken about our commitment to our communities, and our determination to be a responsible and engaged corporate citizen. And in fact, our attempts to create financial inclusion, reach out to communities in need, improve the lives of blue-collar workforces, and direct intervention to help people and families in need, have been noted by the industry. Hence, World CSR Day recognized us as one of the world’s ‘100 Most Impactful CSR Leaders’.

On a point of reflection: we’re humbled by the support and awards we have received, but are also proud. We’re pleased because we didn’t just launch short-sighted campaigns specifically to win awards. Instead, these wins come as a by-product of our constant efforts to be better, faster and more responsive for all our customers.
