Are you moving to Dubai or looking to move to a new place within the city? Well, Dubai offers some of the best residential facilities in the world. From quaint communities for families, to lively hubs for singles; Dubai has something to offer to all kinds of needs and pocket sizes. While Dubai is known for its high cost of housing, most residential complexes offer an array of amenities like swimming pool, gym, garden areas, club house, etc.
First things first – Picking the right area to get a place. Based on your requirements and budget, here are some of top spots to call home.
Arabian Ranches
If you’re looking for a quaint place outside the buzzing city, this is where you should start looking. Well-maintained gardens and trees lining the streets leading up to the modern independent villas, make this an ideal place to bring up a family. The locality is famous among western expats and offers great schools, medical care, restaurants and shopping centers as well.
Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT)
JLT offers great apartments, with many of them offering great views of the man-made lakes and green spaces. The apartments are divided into alphabetically named clusters with some of the best restaurants around the lake areas.
Silicon Oasis
This constantly upcoming residential area in Dubai offers some of the most affordable residential accommodations in Dubai. The locality is connected to a major road network, which makes getting in and around easy. The area is still under construction so there is a lack of greenspaces and landscaping. Great for singles and those who are living away from families.
Downtown
Downtown, also known as ‘The Centre of now’, is home to the iconic Burj Khalifa. If you fancy living next to the tallest building in the world, you must be willing to pay for it. This is probably one of the most central locations in Dubai, close to all major attractions and transport hubs. One major drawback – traffic in the evenings and on weekends can be bad.
Emirates Hills
Like Arabian Ranches, but closer to the city, Emirates hills offers great villas for families. It is made up of a collection of residential areas known as the Springs and the Meadows. The area has great schools in the vicinity and a small ‘town center’ with supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.
Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR)
If you’ve always dreamt of living by the beach, there is no better place than this. There are only apartments in the area with most of them offering breathtaking views of the marina and the beach. The facilities in the area are exceptional. A host of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and even a movie theater along the beachfront, make this area ideal for those looking to have a fun place to live. Traffic can get rough during the weekends; but if your idea of a weekend is to walk to the beach and bake under the glorious sun, you shouldn’t worry about it too much.
