He is responsible to build the money transfer business for Xpress Money in USA, Canada and Latin America.
Debanshu holds a bachelors degree in business administration from India, and a master’s degree in business administration from Sul Ross State University in Texas, USA, where he graduated with honors and is part of the esteemed and prestigious Deans List.
He started his career with American Airlines in 1991 based out of Dallas, Texas in the Management Understudy program. He then became part of the successful American Airlines sales team. In 1993 he joined MBNA America bank in the sales department and soon moved up the ladder to become a credit analyst for the bank, and then the Marketing Manager for the Mid Atlantic states in the USA. In 1997 Debanshu joined Citibank as the Marketing Head for their credit card business. Under his marketing leadership, Citibank rolled out various successful affinity credit card programs. After a successful stint in their credit card division, he was handpicked by the leadership team to head the marketing for Citibank’s Branch Banking Division. He successfully launched many marketing innovations to attract new consumers segments. In 2007 Debanshu joined Western Union to be the business lead for their South Asian segment for the USA. Under his leadership and strategic guidance, Western Union grew their transaction volume to the South Asian segment with increased brand awareness and profitability.
Debanshu’s vision is to make Xpress Money the most preferred money transfer brand in the Americas.
Her responsibilities include managing all aspects of the AML/CFT compliance program and ensuring the effective implementation of laws and regulations.
Marie has had the opportunity to function in different countries in a variety of service environments: banking, accounting, consulting, insurance and retail. Her global experience gives her unique perspective and an agility which is essential in the constantly growing money transfer industry.
She has successfully completed the 4-year degree in Business Information Systems and is a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS). She has a firm background in Anti-money Laundering, Compliance, Banking Operations, Supervision, Customer Service and Administration.
Marie brings to Xpress Money years of learning and knowledge that has earned her great trust and respect from her peers and clients. She believes that focus and determination will overcome all challenges and success can be gained.
Abdulla Humaid Al Mazroei
Abdulla Humaid Al Mazroei is the Chairman of NMC Group, a conglomerate having a wide range of business interests in leading brands like Xpress Money. A dynamic leader with visionary qualities and indefatigable zeal, his life has been an extraordinary journey through the labyrinths of governance, politics, business, commerce and industry.
After graduating in Economics from Baghdad University, Mazroei joined the Government of UAE in 1968. His rise in the area of governance was meteoric when he was promoted as Under Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 1977 he was inducted into the cabinet as the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. His tenure as Advisor to the Presidential Court culminated with him joining the league of pre-eminent ranks as the UAE Minister of Justice. Mazroei is currently a member of the Board of the General Authority for Pension and Social Security, Chairman of Union Insurance and on the Board of the Abu Dhabi International School.
His quest for creating successful business concepts and spear-heading organizational evolution are a benchmark for professionals across the globe.
Dr. B R Shetty
Dr. B R Shetty, Managing Director & CEO of the NMC Group, is an entrepreneurial maverick. Armed with a degree in clinical pharmacy, Dr. Shetty came to UAE in 1972 and founded his own healthcare facility - New Medical Centre in 1975. After realizing the immense potential of the remittance sector, he established UAE Exchange in 1980 with its head office located in Abu Dhabi.
Today, Dr. Shetty is among the top business icons in the Gulf region and a living testimony to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. He has numerous awards to his credit including the Padmashri award, one of the highest civilian Indian honours for his outstanding achievements and contributions to business and trade. The Abu Dhabi Government has also recognized his contributions to society by conferring on him the highest honor - the Order of Abu Dhabi. He also has an honorary Doctorate from the Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA.
During his illustrious business career, he has successfully forayed into a variety of sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, finance, FMCG, IT, hospitality, cosmetics, jewellery, advertising, PR and real estate. He is also a member of various international business councils.
