Xpress Money experiences the 'Joy of Giving' this Ramadan

~ Over 15,000 Iftar boxes distributed, a pioneering Facebook application and Twitter contest was launched for customers to partake in the 'Joy of Giving' ~

Dubai, July, 2013: Xpress Money, the world's most dependable global money transfer brand partook in the 'Joy of Giving' this Ramadan, along with its partners and customers and reached out to the community at large through conventional as well as innovative channels.

"This Ramadan, we put in place a two-pronged approach - direct engagement with the support of partners and using social media applications to offer our customers a window of opportunity to contribute and take part our the 'Joy of Giving' initiatives", said Mr. Vinesh Venugopal Nair, Vice President - Global MarComm & CSR, Xpress Money.

The brand launched a unique Facebook app that allowed its users to customize virtual Iftar boxes. For every Iftar box created, Xpress Money distributed equal number of boxes to SENSES, an NGO in Dubai, which works for children with special needs. On Twitter, with the hashtag #DonateAMeal, the brand ran a contest wherein for every three retweets, Xpress Money donated an Iftar box.

On the traditional front, Xpress Money and its partners reached out to labour camps in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, distributing in excess of 15,000 Iftar boxes. In addition as part of H.O.P.E - the brands sustainable corporate responsibility program, approximately 6,000 Iftar boxes were distributed across countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, Palestine, KSA, Oman and UAE.

"The use of multiple channels provided a veritable difference to our Ramadan initiatives this year", said Mr. Nair adding that the "use of social media applications to celebrate Ramadan was a pioneering initiative that helped our customers join us to partake in the season's spirit of giving".

The Iftar box distribution in UAE was done in partnership with Colours TV and UAE Exchange, among others. Xpress Money under H.O.P.E also joined hands with Community Development Authority in Dubai for the Iftar box distribution. In addition, the brand also organized a bowling contest for laborers in the UAE to experience the sport - something that most participants had not even heard of before.
