In continuation of our efforts to create awareness about serious health issues that could engulf our fast paced lives, it was Movember in November for the men at Xpress Money. Movember (a blend of the words moustache and November) or No-Shave November is an annual event observed in many parts of the world, wherein men grow their moustaches through the month with the aim of raising awareness for various illnesses affecting men such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and other men’s health issues.
The male workforce of Xpress Money spread across the globe, joined in to pledge their support by boycotting their razors for a month and flaunted their moustaches in style. Through this, we did our bit by eduating people around us, especially men about why Movember came into being.
This initiative was born in 2003 through the Movember Foundation – a global charity that is committed to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives. The foundation encourages men, who are referred to as ‘Mo Bros’, to get involved and increase awareness about the different ailments that could affect men at various stages in their lives. Over these years, thousands of men from different corners of the world, have joined the cause to educate people around them – in the hope that it could lead to early detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. In addition to yearly health check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of their family history, especially cancer and adopt a healthier lifestyle overall.
Health has always been priority at Xpress Money. The well being of our employees ranks high on our list of priorities and we ensure that we leave no stone unturned when it comes to their health. Over the last few weeks, the breast cancer awareness drive as well as the health check ups on world diabetes day done for our employees are all part of our larger objective – ‘A happy & healthy Xpress Money family’.
